Wear and Cleaning in Processing Equipment
PEEK is considered for conveyor components, guide rails, rollers, scrapers, gears, wear strips and cleanable equipment parts. Its resistance to hot water, steam and many chemicals can support demanding processing environments when the correct grade and design are used.
Compliance Must Follow the Exact Material
“PEEK” does not automatically mean food-contact compliant. Certain upstream resin grades may have relevant FDA or other documentation, but the document must match the supplied material and intended use. GUNUOFENG does not claim company-level FDA certification. State the market, contact conditions, temperature, cleaning method and required declaration before quotation.
Design for Wear and Hygiene
Unfilled PEEK offers balanced toughness. GF30 and CF30 increase stiffness but may expose fibers at a worn surface and require additional review for contact applications. Component geometry should minimize product traps and allow cleaning. For sliding parts, provide load, speed, mating material and lubricant or dry-running condition.
